That stat reflects a self-selected, highly engaged subset of candidates. But it makes the point: realistic mock practice is the single biggest predictor of SQE1 success, more than any other variable in our data.
Recent candidate surveys also show:
Resitting SQE1 after a previous attempt? We offer a dedicated mocks-only Retake Mock Programme for verified retakers — from £690 for a single FLK or £990 for both FLKs. Built specifically for candidates who already know the law and need realistic, exam-condition practice for their next attempt.

The SQE is the only route to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales, and the syllabus is wide-ranging. Candidates have a maximum of three attempts within six years of their first SQE assessment. Most candidates who pass first time have used a structured preparation programme rather than self-studying.
Yes. Use the free FLK1 and FLK2 mock links on this page to access a sample at no cost. No payment details required.
Not as a standalone first-time purchase — the mocks work best alongside the full study library, AI feedback and tutor support that come with the course. We do offer a dedicated mocks-only Retake Mock Programme for candidates who have previously sat SQE1 and not passed — see the retakers page for details.
QLTS was the previous route for foreign-qualified lawyers to qualify in England and Wales. The SQE replaced QLTS in late 2021 as the single route to qualify for all candidates. The SQE shares many design principles with the QLTS — particularly its emphasis on application under exam conditions and its Pearson VUE-style format. QLTS School prepared candidates for the QLTS for over a decade, and that expertise transferred directly into our SQE preparation.

The most common pattern we see is candidates underestimating the exam itself — the time pressure, the question style and the volume. Many candidates who fail have studied hard but spent too little time on realistic, timed mock practice. That is the gap our mock-driven preparation is designed to close.
