Getting started with the SQE

Congratulations! You have decided to take the SQE exams and start your journey to becoming a solicitor of England and Wales.

Doing your research and getting started with the SQE is the first step. The SQE is a new examination and there is a lot of information out there about the assessments and the various training options.

Preparing for and passing the two stages of the assessment are the next steps in earning your practising certificate as a solicitor.

QLTS School is here to guide you through this entire process, so you can test confidently and pass on your first attempt.

Here’s how to get started with your SQE preparation course, beginning with SQE Learning, our online training system.

SQE Learning login: access made easy

Our course content for both SQE1 and SQE2 is accessible to you via SQE Learning, which is hosted on SAP Litmos Learning Management System platform.

The only element of the course which is outside SQE Learning is the SQE1 textbooks (including the course administration handbook) which are provided in hard copy format and delivered by courier.

Shortly after your enrolment, you will be provided with your personal and unique login details to access SQE Learning. This resource offers you maximum flexibility in your studies since you can access the course content 24/7, wherever you are, using your desktop computer, tablet or mobile device, at https://qlts.litmos.com/.

This is particularly important given that candidates are based all over the UK and the world and have considerable ongoing work and other personal commitments.

This learning platform has been used to deliver our QLTS courses since 2011 and is widely recognised as one of the leading and most user-friendly systems in the industry.

Another benefit of using SQE Learning is that it provides invaluable insights that help you evaluate your performance such as your scores in the SQE1 mock tests, so that emphasis can be placed on areas of weakness that require improvement.

Study on your terms and schedule

The importance of time management when preparing for the SQE should not be underestimated.

Studying for the SQE assessments is probably not the only task on your daily to-do list, so creating an effective study planner based on how much time you can realistically dedicate each day/week will help you balance your study time with your work and personal life commitments.

You could set up your SQE study plan and preparation time in a way that best fits your schedule with our helpful suggested study guide, with target completion dates and detailed guidance on how to benefit the study tools available to you.

The study guide is available in the course administration handbook you will receive from us with the textbooks for SQE1, or within the course guide for SQE2.

SQE Mobile App

Preparing for the SQE assessments requires a significant time investment and mental effort. Realistically, you will not be able to spend all your time at the library, at a traditional working environment, or even on your desktop computer.

SQE Learning is compatible with all major smartphones devices and tablets so you can study on the go, complete practice questions, watch videos, and attempt mock tests.

Simply download the SAP Litmos app and enter your login credentials to get started with your SQE preparation.

Your progress will automatically synchronise in your account between your computer and mobile devices, so you can always pick up right where you left off.

Ongoing client relationship management

We place paramount importance on personalised customer support to prospective and current candidates. This support is provided by our experienced and dedicated team of account managers who will offer you advice from the moment you begin to research your course options throughout the preparation period and until you have successfully completed the SQE assessments.

In many cases, QLTS School will be the first point of contact when a candidate considers undertaking the SQE assessments.

The aim of our SQE programme is to give you the best possible training to ensure that you pass both the SQE1 and SQE2 assessments on your first attempt.

On enrolling for the SQE preparation course, you will be assigned a dedicated account manager who will deal with all your personal needs. Our team members are accessible virtually around the clock to address any issues or requests that you may have throughout the preparation period.

Following completion of the course and several months after the publication of the results of the assessment, our account managers or course administrators will communicate with you, either by phone or email, in order to receive feedback regarding the course materials and tutor support.

We do not consider this to be simply an academic undertaking. We work with you to help you understand and work through an often challenging and always dynamic legal and academic environment.

The knowledge that we have acquired from teaching the QLTS for so many years is now transformed into the SQE assessments. Therefore other providers will not have the same level of education and understanding of this topic as the QLTS School’s account managers.

Student complaint handling procedure

QLTS School is committed to excellence in all its endeavours. Consistent with this goal, we welcome feedback and candidates’ opinions about our courses and services. We are accountable to our candidates and provide a mechanism to ensure candidates have access to appropriate procedures for registering complaints.

The course guide each candidate receives from QLTS School invites candidates to contact us if they have any requests during the course, or if for some reason, they are not happy with it.

We will do our best to address the concerns of the candidate quickly and professionally (normally within 1-2 working days), and to accommodate the candidate request.
