Structured preparation with expert tutor support, 300 mock exams, AI-supported feedback, and exam-focused study tools to help you pass SQE2 — first time or retake.
Our SQE2 preparation course is built for flexible, self-paced study, with materials covering every skill assessed in SQE2. Every package includes:

Materials are updated as and when the law or SQE syllabus changes — not on a fixed yearly cycle.
We deliberately include more material than any single candidate will use. The course is built to support every learning style, so different candidates can prepare in different ways — what works for one person may not work for another.
There are two exceptions. Every candidate should complete as many mock exams as possible, and (in the Advantage and Premium packages) every candidate should use their mock practice stations with tutor feedback. The written and oral skills SQE2 assesses are best built through realistic practice — and our data consistently shows it.
Beyond mocks and practice stations, treat the rest of the materials as a toolkit, not a checklist:
| Learning style | Resources to lean on |
| Visual | 100+ legal skills video workshops, SQE Video Library, SQE Skills Online interactive exercises, demo client interview and advocacy videos |
| Auditory and verbal | 150+ podcasts, video workshops with tutor commentary, mock practice stations with live tutor role-play and feedback |
| Reading and writing | Practice area summary notes, 15 English writing tasks with sample letters and commentary, written practice questions and model answers |
| Kinesthetic (learning by doing) | Mock practice stations with live tutor role-play (interviewing and advocacy), the 15 English writing tasks, hands-on legal drafting practice in the practice questions, the SQE Skills Online interactive exercises |
| Blended (most candidates) | A mix of the above, planned with your tutor in the initial consultation |
Your initial tutor consultation will help you build a study plan around the resources you will actually use — not a generic plan that treats every resource as mandatory.
Each preparation course moves through four stages, designed to take you from understanding the SQE2 format to confidently performing under exam conditions.
| Stage | What you’ll do and the tools you’ll use |
| Stage I — Orientation and Planning | Understand the style, format and procedures of the SQE2 assessment. Tools: SQE2 exam-day resources, Course Guide. |
| Stage II — Substantive law and procedure | Study substantive and procedural law. Tools: Practice area summaries, flashcards, SQE Video Library, podcasts. |
| Stage III — The six skills | Learn and practise the six SQE2 skills. Tools: Practice questions, SQE Skills Online, 100+ legal skills video workshops, English writing tasks. |
| Stage IV — Applying under exam conditions | Develop and practise your legal skills under exam conditions. Tools: Kaplan sample questions and suggested solutions, exam technique videos, 120/300 mock exams with AI feedback, mock practice stations with personal tutor feedback. |
Three packages, designed for different levels of practical experience and tutor support. Every package includes the core study materials, an initial tutor consultation, the SQE AI Assistant and AI-generated feedback on written mock exams. The main differences are the number of mock exams, the mock practice stations with personal tutor feedback, and the level of ongoing tutor support.
Recommended for: candidates with substantial practical legal experience who need targeted exam practice.
Includes:
Best for candidates who already practise law and need to rehearse SQE2 format and timing.
Recommended for: the majority of SQE2 candidates — those who want full mock coverage and personal tutor feedback on key skills.
Everything in Basic, plus:
Best for most candidates — full mock suite, skills video coverage, and live feedback on the two oral practice stations.
Recommended for: candidates who want extensive personal tutor support, especially those new to UK legal practice or returning after an unsuccessful attempt.
Everything in Advantage, plus:
Best for candidates who want repeated live tutor feedback across all SQE2 skill types before exam day.
A central part of the SQE2 assessment is the practice stations, where your skills are tested live in realistic situations using actors.
In our one-on-one mock practice stations, you will practise with one of our experienced tutors and be assessed on client interviewing and advocacy. Your tutor will provide constructive, structured feedback based on the SRA’s marking criteria, helping you understand what you are doing well and where further work is needed before the real assessment.
Candidates consistently tell us that these sessions are one of the most useful parts of their SQE2 preparation.
Your mock practice stations are scheduled at dates and times mutually agreed with your tutor, giving you maximum convenience and flexibility. Each session runs for the full duration of the real assessment — unlike providers that operate on fixed schedules, allocate places on a first-come, first-served basis, or run shorter sessions than the actual exam.
Our 300 SQE2 mock exams with model answers give you extensive practice across the full range of legal practice areas and skills tested in SQE2.
For the written assessments, the platform resembles the SQE2 exam functionality on Pearson VUE, helping you become familiar with the format, structure and feel of the real exam environment. Each mock includes the supporting documents needed to complete the task, and for relevant assessments, interviewer instructions are also available so you can practise the role-play aspect of the exam.
Each mock is supported by a model answer prepared by legal experts, reflecting the standard expected in the assessment. Many mocks are also supported by the SQE2 Analyser, our AI-powered feedback tool, which analyses your response against the SRA’s assessment criteria and provides instant, actionable feedback.
This helps you understand where your legal knowledge, application, structure or exam technique may need improvement, so each mock becomes a structured step in your preparation — not just a one-off practice exercise.
Unlike providers that may offer only a restricted selection of practice exams, our mocks are designed to cover the whole SQE2 syllabus, giving you the breadth, realism and feedback needed to prepare with confidence.
Depending on the package you choose, you’ll have access to the following materials and levels of tutor assistance. Each resource is designed to work alongside the others — together they form a complete preparation system for the practical legal skills tested on SQE2.
Because the questions in the SQE2 practice areas may draw on underlying black-letter law tested on SQE1 or the LPC, you’ll also have access to the relevant SQE1 course materials that cover the substantive and procedural law tested on SQE2.
Ethics is assessed throughout all oral and written SQE2 tasks, in line with the SRA Principles and Code of Conduct. These requirements are covered in our summary notes, digital flashcards, video tutorials, podcasts and mock exams, with practical examples to help you spot and deal with such issues in the assessment.
Find out everything you need to know about the SQE2 assessment, including the structure, marking criteria, and test protocols and policies. There are study guides too, so you’ll have everything you need to plan your preparation time and how to utilise the course content.
Divided into sections and covering the main topics tested in SQE2, these notes will cut the time you spend on revision. The summaries cover property law, wills and the administration of estates, dispute resolution, criminal litigation, and business law.
You can download the notes and use them with Acrobat AI Assistant to save time and enhance your studies — summarise documents instantly, get quick answers by chatting with your docs, and study smarter.

100+ video workshops summarising the key points for each of the six legal skills you’ll be tested on in SQE2, led by experienced solicitors and skills trainers, all of whom are qualified in England and Wales.

Watch our expert tutors deliver skill explanations through engaging interview-style lectures, designed to decode the exam criteria and give you strategic tips for success.
All materials are recorded and available online any time on your computer, tablet or phone. The six skills covered:

Download our SQE2 Toolkit: a comprehensive document which covers everything you need to know about the practical legal skills assessment of the SQE exams.
All SQE2 course resources are digital and accessed through SQE Learning, our proprietary online training platform. After you sign up, you’ll have an initial consultation with an expert tutor to plan your study, and you’ll follow a customised study plan prepared by your tutor. Mock practice stations can be booked directly with your tutor at a time that suits you.
Studying online means you can access materials whenever and wherever you want. Content is mobile-ready, so you can study from your laptop, tablet or phone.
There’s no fixed enrolment date — you can join the course at any time. Kaplan offers SQE2 four times a year, and your tutor will help you decide which sitting fits your preparation timeline. Course access covers the first four consecutive SQE2 sittings from the date of registration, or until you pass.
We recommend a 3-4 month study period at 15-20 hours per week. Some candidates take longer — up to 8 months — and that’s perfectly fine.
Many SQE2 preparation courses run on fixed cohort schedules — set start dates, fixed lecture weeks, and a single exam window built into the calendar. Mock practice stations may also run on first-come-first-served basis. If life intervenes — a busy work period, a family event, a missed week — you fall behind and the pressure compounds.
Our SQE2 course is designed differently. You set the pace. There are no fixed deadlines, and your mock practice stations are scheduled at times mutually agreed with your tutor — not from a fixed slot list. Your tutor-prepared study plan flexes around your real schedule, not the other way around.
Candidates consistently tell us this structure makes the difference — it removes the pressure to keep up with a cohort and lets them focus on what matters: building the skills SQE2 actually tests.
If you buy your course in the same calendar month as, or the month immediately before, the first day of a scheduled SQE2 sitting, you can opt into a pre-prep period that extends your course access from four to five consecutive sittings. Notify us by email within seven days of your course purchase to activate it.
For more than 15 years, QLTS School has helped thousands of candidates prepare for the SQE and its predecessor, the QLTS. SQE preparation is our sole focus, and our SQE2 materials are developed specifically for the assessment by experienced tutors who understand the SRA’s requirements.
What sets our SQE2 preparation apart:
Every package gives you the core study materials, AI-generated feedback on written mock exams, and an initial tutor consultation. The differences are the number of mock exams, the legal skills video workshops, and the number of mock practice stations with personal tutor feedback.
We also offer flexible payment options for our courses.
You can sign up at any time and start preparing immediately. There is no fixed enrolment date, and your course access will cover the next four consecutive SQE2 sittings.
If you enrol on the SQE2 Basic Course, you can upgrade at any stage to unlock access to an additional 180 self-assessment mock exams for £390.
